[cobirds] Full Moon and Migration

Hi COBirders,

We finally have some clear sky to go with the full moon before it gets too high in the sky tonight, and there are currently birds crossing the moon, at least from where I am sitting.

If you haven't tried it, watching the lunar disk with a tripod and spotting scope gives you a motionless platform for counting moon-crossing birds. This is about the prime time, at the end of August, and I'm not sure if it will be clear enough the next couple of nights. I've been waiting all month for this chance!

Good Viewing,
Steve Brown
