[cobirds] Parasitic Jaeger photos (plus other Larimer sightings)

In case folks try for the adult Parasitic Jaeger at Timnath Reservoir later today (Sunday), you can get a search image from my photos at http://www.pbase.com/quetzal/paja09132014. I hope a real photographer can get some better quality photos.

The bird had settled on the water at sundown, so there is a good chance it will still be there in the morning. Unfortunately, viewing from the public park on the west side is best in the afternoon with the sun at your back. In the morning, the best lighting is from the east side neighborhood (Wildwings subdivision). More houses have been built recently but there should still be some opportunities to view the center of the reservoir from the east side, accessed from County Line Rd (Larimer CR13/Weld CR1).

Timnath Reservoir hosted thousands of birds. My ebird checklist can be viewed here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S19825543.

Some other birds in the area on Saturday afternoon included an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull at Kechter Pit (west side of Interstate 25, south of Harmony Rd.; best viewed from west side, along CR 7). Ebird checklist is here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S19821355.

Along CR 7 (aka Strauss Cabin Rd.) on the north side of Harmony Rd, Arapahoe Bend Natural Area hosted a decent flock of warblers along the Poudre River, including a couple Townsend's Warblers. My ebird checklist is here: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S19820843. The Poudre River riparian corridor surely has other warblers if you are willing to spend the time searching the dense canopy, and sorting through the multitudes of Wilson's Warblers. There are miles of trails from Windsor, through Fort Collins, to LaPorte.

The folks who found the jaeger also reported a Sabine's Gull, which was seen departing Timnath Reservoir, and a Caspian Tern at Poudre Reservoir No. 4 in Wellington.
