[cobirds] Canada Warbler, El Paso Co, Monday

Hi COBirders,

The banding catch at Clear Springs Ranch has been pretty abbreviated the last 7-8 days, so no reports. Yesterday things started to pick up, and today, it was a very busy hour after dawn. The prize being my first ever Colorado CANADA WARBLER, and a "life fondle” as I banded it. 21 new birds banded today - a very good number for CSR.

Also lotsa Wilson’s and Orange-crowned Warblers, Com Yellowthroat, the FOS's Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Red-breasted Nuthatch, and Brewer’s Sparrow.

Again - my banding site in a willow marsh at Clear Springs Ranch is not really accessible. It is 1 1/2 miles from the public parking area, and they are doing construction on the parking and main road, so lots of heavy machinery moving around. (Add machine guns, artillery, and weekend racing at PPIR, and it isn’t very peaceful - just a few good birds!)

Happy Migration,
Steve Brown
