Today at Barr Lake there was a lot of exposed mudflat and large numbers of waterbirds, mostly western grebes, a half dozen (of what appeared to be) stilt sandpipers and vast quantities of ducks. Gulls included mostly Ring-Bills, and a few Franklin's in winter plumage. Within the mass of ducks, from the end of Gazebo Boardwalk at the south end of the lake, a Eurasian Widgeon was spotted on the sandbar just to the north. Good views were had by the two birders present. The time was from 3 PM to 4 PM. Very cool!
