Today 9-22 at 10:30 a.m. I had two Caspian Terns at Barr Lake (Adams). Straight out from the banding station past the mudflats on a small sand island, but they were also up doing their thing around the reservoir so they could have been viewed from several areas. One appeared to be an adult and the other looked like a first-year bird with light grayish mottling on sides, more black on primaries and slightly lighter-colored black cap. E-mail me if you'd like to see photos. On the same island the Califirnia Gulls outnumbered the Ring-billed, and behind them in the shallow water were four Great Egrets.
