I was able to spend just under an hour scanning the eastern Barr Lake shores and mudflats from the boat launch, from the path leading out from the banding station and a bit from just across from the Nature Center. Although there were plenty of birds, they were in the gull, cormorant, pelican categories and I was surprised to find but one Killdeer and NO other shorebirds of any kind there. If I cannot be a shining
-- example, I thought I could be a dire warning.
