Re: [cobirds] Re: Prothonotary Warbler, Centennial Park, Arapahoe County, 12/2/13, 3:45-4:45PM

The Prothonotary is hanging out in the wooded strip along the north side of the lake. Walking on the loop trail, as you enter the most heavily wooded area, watch the vegetation on the north side of the path. At a bend in the trail, there are two or three shrub trees loaded with berries. Just past these shrubs, a path leads down into the thicket near the shrubs. There are several other berry laden shrubs there. I waited there for about 10 minutes, and the warbler showed up in front of me. It then went to one of the shrubs and began eating berries. I was able to approach slowly for some very nice photos.

What area did you see it in?  I stopped by a couple of days ago and could not find it.

I was disappointed to see that the bird continues, I can only hope that tomorrow the bird will depart, the predicted weather could be detrimental.
