[cobirds] West Slope birder on the Front Range

It's really fun to come to the Front Range at Christmastime where there are lots of waterbirds, a little open water and warm temps.  The trip over produced three species of Summit County Rosy-Finches in the snow.  Front Range lakes produced a six-pack of geese and a six-pack of gulls.  The geese represent a Colorado slam!  The white geese at Aurora Reservoir were among about 10,000 Cackling and Canadas that all lifted off at once this morning, a really exciting experience in sight and sound.  The gull show at Aurora Res was pretty awesome as well with Thayer's, Great and Lesser Black-backed Gulls.  The Brant was the only goose on the Chatfield marina ice this morning and flew to join the Canada Geese grazing in the campground loops.

Thanks to all who post these birds, they are a really great wintertime treat for us west slope tourists.
