Traveled down to Walsenburg to spend Christmas with my wife's parents.
When we arrived, around 10 a.m., my father-in-law said to me: "you picked a good time to come; the roadrunner has visited the last two days!"
Oh yeah! It's been over seven years since I've seen a roadrunner.
My nephew and I patiently waited for it to appear.
It didn't show up until around 1 p.m.
Awesome! Couldn't get close enough for a photograph.
During the course of the day, we also saw at least one of these species:
Juniper Titmouse
Peregrine Falcon
Pine Siskin
Townsend's Solitaire
Mountain Chickadee
Dark Eyed Juncos
Pinyon Jay
House Finch
Bushtit
Magpie
White-breasted Nuthatch
Aaron Driscoll
