The Red Rocks feeders were active this morning. When I got there at 8:something to add seed, Mike Henwood and friends , Michael and Rob (?) - (sorry bad w names) were already there and had added seed .. The Golden-Crowned Sparrow made several appearances. We had 2 Black Rosy-Finches, 4 Gray-Crowned Rosy Finches. There were likley more; we could see several hanging around on the snow-covered cliffs behind the feeders. There was a VERY high flyover of 18 Sandhills Cranes seen by Mike et al. Hopefully they have some tail winds for heading south.
The roads into Red Rocks were slick. They could be better by now but just a word of caution. I tried the south entrance and was not proceeding but moving backward on the ice. Backed out of there and tried again at the entrance just north of Morrison, same story. Finally managed to get up there via the Alameda entrance. However, now my car is stuck in 4 WD low. It was a slow ride home at 15 mph. Hoping the fluids thaw soon.
