[cobirds] Colorado State University campus, Larimer Co.; Dec. 3

Hi,

A flock of Bushtits and a Black-capped Chickadee were foraging through the Sherwood Forest (the grove of trees outside the Forestry Bldg.) on the CSU campus.  I happened to be walking by around 2pm and heard sharp chip-like calls.  I didn't have my binoculars with me but I saw small songbirds with long tails moving through the trees.  I counted 13 Bushtits as they flew out of a spruce and over the building.

I often see Flickers on campus, especially near the Greenhouse Water Remediation Garden.  Today one tree there held 6 Flickers.  3 others were nearby.

The snow started falling in Ft. Collins a little after 2:30.

Stay warm,

Scott Baron
