[cobirds] Tuesday at home. Lazuli Bunting

Hi Cobirders, Tuesday I woke up at 7:30 and it was still snowing so
I went back to sleep until 10AM ! I went for my thyroid pill at the
kitchen window and there was
warbler size bird on a chokecherry twig near the window. I got great
looks at it but it wasn't like something I knew . Stayed for a few
minutes waiting for the two
white-crowned sparrows to get out of the near by feeder then it
quickly moved in and took a seed and left into the chokecherry.

Later that evening I was checking in the large Sibley Guide Lazuli
Bunting showed non-breeding male ( first winter male) and that most
looked like what I saw.
a Lazuli getting its adult plumage. So a first for the yard and the
year for me.

Where is that Painted Redstart when you need it! First and only one
I have seen was at Ramsey Canyon Arizona thirty years ago.

Most of the 6 or 7 " of snow is still in the yard.

Hope something else shows up me and you.
