Hi all,
-- Hoping to get some of the action I missed last week for being out of town, I drove around east of Erie looking for roadside action once the sun came out.
I was unable to turn any of the many Vesper Sparrows into Longspurs. I didn't find any Horned Larks either. Consolation price was at least two Sage Thrashers and an adult White-crowned Sparrow along Co Rd 7, south of Erie Pkwy. Also, a Shrike was hanging out right next to the sparrows and didn't seem to disturb them...
I didn't try for the Mountain Plovers previously reported.
Hope you have better luck!
Happy trails,
Beto Matheus
