[cobirds] RFI: Front Range birding

Hi,

I will be visiting Ft. Collins this weekend and I have a little time for birding.  I've done some research on ebird and the Denver chapter of the ABA guidebook to metropolitan areas but I welcome advice from birders directly on where to go to find the species below.  I can drive up to an hour from Ft. Collins or Denver.

I am leaning toward visiting Pawnee Nat'l Grassland, it appears that birding there is primarily driving along roadsides, stopping when I hear or see something interesting?

My girlfriend and I might hike Horsetooth Reservoir/Lory SP area or Rocky Mtn. Arsenal NWR, does anyone have birding/wildlife tips for those places?

Mtn. Plover
Franklin's Gull
Burrowing Owl
Com. Poorwill
Broad-tailed Hummingbird
Williamson's Sapsucker
Am. Three-toed Woodpecker
Sage Thrasher
Chestnut-collared Longspur
McCown's Longspur
Sage Sparrow

Thanks very much,

Scott Baron
