[cobirds] Harrier at Walden Ponds, Boulder

Echoing Nancy Rynes' posting about Walden, it was wonderful to see (and hear fly over) the huge numbers of White Pelicans. Topiltzin Martinez (10 years old as of Friday) found several Yellow Rumped Warblers along the back side of Cottonwood and heard, then we saw, the first of several Kingfishers. There was a beautiful adult male Harrier who flew over Boulder Creek by the bridge, where we dipped on the Eastern Phoebe. The fledgling Great Horned Owl was out with his or her parent along the creek path by the sewage treatment plant, and there were several snipe in the second pond past Cottonwood Marsh. -Elena Klaver, Niwot
