[cobirds] Snow Goose Festival, this coming weekend, Lamar, Prowers County

Hello, Birders.

Yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, February 19th, Kei and I heard a small group of Snow Geese flying over Lafayette, Boulder County, which reminds me of something...

The 11th annual High Plains Snow Goose Festival is upon us! The keynote speaker is Richard Crossley, and the field trips are fantastic. All festival events are based out of Lamar, Prowers County, which is, of course, one of the birdiest places in Colorado.

If you've never been to the Snow Goose festival, you owe it to yourself to do so. The festival has emerged as a first-rate birding event, but it also retains its fun, down-home appeal.

Here's all the info on the festival:

Oh, and "enjoy" the drive down. Hannah and Andrew and I are going to overnight in an igloo in Kit Carson... (But it looks like this is a fast-moving storm, so the roads should be good by Friday morning.)

See you in Lamar!
