Today, David Dowell and I wandered around Morgan County and bumped into birds everywhere. Jackson Reservoir has a good bit of open water. Highlights there include

RUSTY BLACKBIRD (male, alt plumage, along e. side)
2 HERMIT THRUSHES (state park, one was Pacific Lowland type)

2 MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES (visitor center, state park)
2 BROWN CREEPER (state park)
2 HARRIS'S SPARROW (state park)
3 LBB GULLS (2 first cycle, 1 ad, on reservoir)
1 THAYER'S GULL (adult, on reservoir)
1 WHITE-WINGED JUNCO (state park)
1 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (e. side)
At a ?private? site along S Platte River just nw of Ft Morgan, we found

An amazing day, beautiful, and birdy. If someone had planned a Morgan County Big Day today, a tally in the high 80s would've likely been possible, seemingly impossible in winter there
Migration does seem to be starting, with a seeming uptick in Western Meadowlarks and Mourning Doves as well as more waterfowl about.
