[cobirds] Indian Peaks Winter Census in Ward

I took a group this morning up to Ward along the Peak to Peak highway in Boulder County to do the annual Indian Peaks winter census.  Amazingly this is the 32 consecutive year for this count which was first held as a CBC in January, 1982.  Winds were howling, but the temperatures warmed to a reasonable level by 10:00 a.m.  The “lower Ward” feeders just up the road from the Moroccan Café (open for business) hosted up to 15 Pine Grosbeaks while the “upper Ward” feeders west past the Old Depot had 24 Rosy Finches (2 Black and 2 Gray-crowned) and another Pine Grosbeak.  Amazingly there were a total of 7 active feeders in town that we found.
