[cobirds] Ring-necked–Canvasback Hybrid at Boulder Creek?

I did some quick birding of Boulder Creek at 75th today around 4:30 and came across an unusual duck. Its head was shaped like a canvasback's; it had a beige streak along the bill and a white ring on the bill; and on its shoulder was something resembling the spur of a ring-necked duck. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of it. It did look like the fifth picture on this page: http://www.pbase.com/ol_coot/hybrid_aythya

Perhaps someone else who knows more about hybrids could take a look?
