Dear CO-BIRDers,
Thanks to Joyce Takamine (via the CO RBA) for correcting my error about the "Black Hole" and our Zonotrichia slam being in Baca, not Prowers, County. Despite doing some checking before I initially posted, I still managed to goof on that one. Argh.
While I'm here, one other interesting bird from the weekend was a quite brown and barred first winter Northern Shrike on the Blue Rose Ranch, just north of Springfield and also in Baca County. That bird was seen on Saturday morning's field trip to the Blue Rose, along with another half dozen Harris's Sparrows.
Good birding,
Jeff
