[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-Chico Basin Ranch 9/5/2023

Banding was filled with Wilson's Warblers in addition to a few other species. No sighting of the Worm-eating Warbler this morning. Another couple Western Flycatchers recaptures banded a couple days ago were recaught today. They both increased their weight. The Highlight of the day was beautiful Blue Jay. Such blues represented on the bird even though they are iridescent. The color of the bird is really gray and black reflecting/refracting the blue colors when the light is just right.

The Banding Station will be open tomorrow through Saturday sunrise until @ 11:30 AM weather permitting. Take time to appreciate the birds today. The migratory birds must fly great distances and overcome obstacles to arrive at their winter destinations safely. Enjoy the nice Weather day!
