[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-Chico Basin Ranch 9/9/2023

Banding today sported 22 bird species. What has been a push of birds @ 7:50 AM has continued today. Quite a few flycatchers around the banding station which is good since there is plenty of flies and a few mosquitoes for them to consume. When we left the station today, the flycatchers were hunting in the shade of the cottonwoods.

Wilson's Warbler- 47

Orange-crowned Warbler- 3

Yellow Warbler- 1

Least Flycatcher- 3

Western Wood-pewee- 3

Dusky Flycatcher- 1

Hammond's Flycatcher- 1

House Wren- 2

Red-breasted Nuthatch- 1

Warbling Vireo- 1

Cassin's Vireo- 1

Brewer's Sparrow- 1

Lincoln's Sparrow- 3

Green-tailed Towhee- 1

Western Tanager- 1

Bullock's Oriole- 2

Gray Catbird- 1

Swainson's Thrush- 2

Black-headed Grosbeak- 1

2 Recaptures/2 Returns (banded Previous season/years)

Wilson's Warbler-1

Western Flycatcher- 1

American Robin-first banded in Spring 2022 as an adult

Brown Thrasher- older bird band- do not have the info on bird yet

The banding station will be closed tomorrow and will open Monday @ sunrise through 11:30 AM. Enjoy the Day!
