[cobirds] Larimer bits and pieces

I made a quick check of Timnath Res this morning, although admit to whimping out and only scanning from my car parked in the south lot.  I saw no Surf Scoter but it certainly could be out there in the distance.  Gulls, several Ring-bills and a Herring adult, were getting crayfish from the shore just north of the portapotty.  There were also at least two Killdeer on the south shore.  The number of waterfowl seems way low for what it ought to be for this time of year and weather.  No grebes, several shovelers, few buffleheads.  Did not go to the northeastern corner where the Dunlin has been seen.  Nobody from the Town of Timnath asked questions.

Nothing of interest at the Walmart pond in Timnath (i.e., no Red-necked Grebe).  Very few waterfowl or gulls.

At the Strauss Cabin gravel pond on the north side of Horsetooth Rd just west of Strauss Cabin Road was one Eared Grebe.

After the half-hearted reservoir check, in my apartment yard at 612 Stover in Fort Collins was a more fun feeding frenzy of both chickadees, both Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches (one each), a junco, 2 Brown Creepers, and the Blue-gray Gnatcatcher continues (poor but identifiable photo).  The little birds appeared to be nitpicking small things (presumably aphids and boxelder psyllids, perhaps lacewings) from juniper, Siberian Elm, and Boxelder.  Wonder how long into winter the gnatcatcher, first noticed on 4Nov, will persist?
