Co Birders: Happy Thanksgiving! While hiking in Red Rock Canyon Open Space in Colorado Springs, my wife and I found a flock of ROSY-FINCHES. There were about 25 in the flock. The only bird we could confirm an identity on was a Gray-crowned. Red Rock Canyon park is best accessed from US-24 at Ridge Road. The flock was at the intersection of the Greenlee Trail and the Mesa Trail where those trails meet the Section 16 trail connection. This is the southern end of the Greenlee Trail. The flock flew north (downhill) into the weedy field adjacent to the Greenlee Trail. Trail conditions are passable but icy.
