Earlier this afternoon, David Bray and I checked out several lakes south and west of Loveland looking for Barrow's Goldeneye. Lakes/Reservoirs surveyed included Rist Benson, Boedecker, Lon Hagler, Hertha, Dry Creek, and Lone Tree. No Barrow's Goldeneyes were found. Highlights were:
Trumpeter Swan - Boedecker Lake
Surf Scoter - juv female at Dry Creek Reservoir
Greater Scaup - Dry Creek Reservoir
Red-breasted Merganser - 4 females at Lone Tree Reservoir
Great-tailed Grackle - 15 at traditional evening roost site west of Cattail Lake
