[cobirds] Barrow's Goldeneyes - Gunnison County

Saturday (Nov 21st) we had a good group of birders search Blue Mesa Reservoir for Barrow's Goldeneyes. There were at least 30 Barrow's found just east of the Hwy 149 bridge. Interestingly, there were only 3 females and the rest were males. Other highlights were many species of ducks, 1 Horned Grebe, 3 Eared Grebes, at least 100 Western Grebes, 3 Wilson's Snipe, 1 Killdeer, and the most gulls I have ever seen on the west slope (California only identified but many were too far to id). Oddest bird was a moose high on a cliff above pretending to be a bighorn sheep where we viewed the Barrow's Goldeneyes!
