Hello, Birders.
-- This morning, Sun., Nov. 22, I saw a strikingly white Aechmophorus grebe on Baseline Reservoir, Boulder County. When I first glimpsed the bird in my scope--it was way out there--I thought it was a swan. Then it swam next to a western grebe. It's a beautiful bird, that's for sure. I got some poor photos. I hope the bird sticks around and comes closer to shore.
Over at Waneka Lake, Boulder County, there's a single greater white-fronted goose with the immense throng of cackling geese and Canada geese. Also a Wilson snipe hanging on, and a flock of bushtits.
We will look for these and other birds on The Great Boulder Caper, this coming Friday, Nov. 27.
