[cobirds] Williams Fork Reservoir (Grand Co)

I made a stop at Williams Fork Reservoir between Hot Sulphur Springs and Kremmling in Grand County this morning.  Even without water birds of note, this place is worth a visit.  There is a road crossing the willows along the inlet creek on the east side and the spot had multiple Veerys singing (I counted at least 4).  In addition a Northern Waterthrush popped up and sang as well.  Also present were Red-naped Sapsucker, Fox Sparrow, Cedar Waxwing, Lesser Goldfinch and more expected stuff.  The road along the south shore of the reservoir itself went along lots of flooded fields with Sora calling without a prompt in the middle of the day.

I think this spot must be Colorado’s southernmost breeding site for Veery and Northern Waterthrush, plus it must be a couple of hours closer to Denver/Boulder than Michigan Creek in North Park.
