This morning in Sondermann Park (Colorado Springs) I heard distinctive alarm calls of a Winter Wren. I didn't have binoculars with me, so wasn't able to see the bird well, but it was very vocal, giving mostly agitated two-note jip calls. It was along the creek just north of the chain gate, in the bases of the crack willows.
-- Just north of there there was a big and very active flock including finches, siskins, robins, juncos, tree, song and white-crowned sparrows, possibly more.
