Hi all,
A big thanks to the 12 birders, who helped with this years Pueblo CBC (the circle is east of Pueblo, and includes the towns of Blende and Vineland, as well as Roselawn Cemetery, South Road Pond, Runyon Lake, Lake Minnequa, CF&I Lakes (private), Comanche Power Plant (private), Huerfano Reservoir (dry), parts of the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek, and the Pueblo Airport. The count was on Tuesday, 23 Dec 2014.
A total of 109 species and nearly 100,000 birds were counted (thanks to the large numbers of Red-winged Blackbirds, European Starlings, Eurasian Collared-Doves, both white and dark geese, American Robins, and other birds). The previous record for species was 108, and this is only the 3rd time this CBC has reached the 100 species mark.
New species for the count were: Zone-tailed Hawk (if accepted by the CBRC and the CBC Regional Editor team), Pine Warbler (photographed), and Hermit Thrush.
