I once again have a greater white fronted goose on the ponds where I live. He has been here off and on for a year now, even through the summer. He may be here all the time and I just don't notice him if he's hanging out on the lower two ponds.
This is also a great place to study the differences with the smaller forms of geese. I had approximately 420 geese on our account and approximately half of those were the smaller forms. You can get very close to the geese without any problem.
I also have a new yard bird, a pied billed grebe. It's certainly not an unusual bird for this area but I've never seen a grebe on the ponds.
If someone wants to see the white fronted goose, feel free to give me a call and we can make a plan to meet since this is private property.
These are ponds that are on Platte Canyon Drive, one half mile south of Bowles. My phone number is 303-797-9312.
