Hi Cobirders, Been very busy lately. Keeping feeders filled is a challenge especially during the cold spell. Not doing the large cable drum feeder yet.
Most every day: 7:30 to 6:30AM Bushtits come small flocks before regulars show up. Regulars are: 7 to 9AM and most of the day.:
House Finch 15 House Sparrow 25 + Red winged Blackbirds 4 imm., 4 males and 1 Female, Black Capped Chickadee,
Spotted Towhee was spotted a bright male 5 times in past 10 days in the feeder at near the window . Unusual visitor .
Wednesday the same feeder had a Black and White Warbler . I saw it only for a few second .It did not eat any seeds may have found some very small
insects. Flew off and did not return.
High wind gusts emptied the tubular seed feeder but the Eurasian Collared Doves (8) ate the seeds on the ground under it.
Today a Black-billed Magpie flew along the back fence but did not enter the yard.
The Pyracantha berries attack birds including a Robin Friday. Blue Jays come for Peanuts (unsalted in shells) every day.
My helper comes on Monday and likes to see and feed the birds too. I do not spend a lot of time checking on them.
Bye now.
