[cobirds] Pueblo and Colorado Springs birds 11/19

I birded with Bill Maynard, Anna Joy Lehmike, Janeal Thompson, and Jane Stulp today in Pueblo and later in Colorado Springs.

Pueblo City Park was pretty cold and quiet from 8-9am.  The best bird was a male *Red Crossbill* flying over.  I'm not sure if there was one bird that flew over twice, or two of them.

At Pueblo Reservoir at the South Shore Marina/SE Corner, we saw an adult *Great Black-backed Gull*, two immature *Lesser Black-backed Gulls*, a juvenile *Thayer's Gull*, a *Pacific Loon*, and two *Common Loons*.

At Sailboard launching area at Pueblo Reservoir, there was a *Dunlin* on the shore (which was first found yesterday by Rich Miller).  We could see the *Pacific Loon* out on the water better from here, earlier it was pretty far out from the other side of the Reservoir.  Margie Joy and Pearle and Clif were also able to see the Dunlin, and Glenn Walbek got some nice photos of it.

At West Fishing Road at Pueblo Reservoir, we looked over the grebes, and didn't see a red-necked grebe, though we did see some *Bonaparte's Gulls* and a *Clark's Grebe*.

We then headed to Big Johnson Reservoir in southern Colorado Springs, El Paso, where Mark Peterson had some nice birds for us to look at.  We all saw a *Ross's Goose*, *blue form Snow Goose*, two *White-winged Scoters*, a female *Long-tailed Duck*, plus *Common Loon* and *Bonaparte's Gulls*.

Then we headed to Prospect Pond in Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, where we saw, along with Cathy Sheeter, two *Surf Scoters*, one *White-winged Scoter*, and a *Black Scoter*.

A fun day for sure!
