[cobirds] Painted Bunting Chico Basin Ranch (Pueblo County)

This morning (9/15) at Chico Basin Ranch we found a imm. female Painted Bunting at Rose Pond. The bird was at the far west end of the pond, staying low in the Russian Olives, and was fairly sedentary. We got several good prolonged looks at it - overall greenish color, stubby bill, faint eye ring, lighter underneath.

Other than that lots of Wilson's Warblers and Spizella sparrows. The Solitary Sandpiper is still present in the small pond north of Rose, as well as three Snipe.
