[cobirds] meat eaters, Delta County 11/11/12

An impressive # of raptors were around the yard today.  Most amazing thing I witnessed was a Northern Shrike harassing a Northern Pygmy-Owl!  The shrike was vocalizing (a strange rattle call I've never heard before) and hopping around the owl.  Other meat-eating birds seen today were Northern Harrier, Golden Eagle, American Kestrel, and Cooper's Hawk.  

This early arctic weather sure rearranged the avifauna around here! No redpolls or Bowaxs though.
