Hey COBirders, I’m doing backyard banding this fall, and while not seeing any unusual migrants, some higher elevation birds are showing up here, in NW colorado Springs -Mountain Shadows neighborhood. Seen this week -Evening Grosbeak male (first in several years), 3 Steller’s Jays, (2 banded -first in several years), Cassin’s Finch (2 female type, banded. I had one last year.), and the first three Gray-headed Juncos (2 banded). In addition, I still have at least one Broad-tailed Hummer (female) hanging around. Usually here the first juncos appear about the same day as the last hummers. Plus, several raptors seen heading S over the neighborhood this weekend -TV’s, Red-tails, Cooper’s, and a few not id’d.
