Not many birds were in the olive grove this morning. There were a lot of Wilson's Warblers in the cottonwoods to the north of the banding building. Flies were numerous there so thinking that is why the birds remained out there because they had good food! A banded Townsend's Warbler was observed in the Cottonwoods as well. A Ruby-crowned kinglet was seen near one of the nets. The highlights were a hatching year male Chestnut-sided Warbler and another Ovenbird. WE caught a returning Brown Thrasher that was banded in September 2024 as a hatching year bird. It is now 3 years old.
