[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report-Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-September 15, 2026

A northerly wind which was breezy early on but reduced its strength by mid-morning. There was a group of species around today. They were just hard to see in the fluttering leaves. Eighteen bird species were banded/handled today and released including another Great-crested Flycatcher and a Common Yellowthroat. Flycatchers were fairly prolific as well. A Brown Thrasher returned to the olive grove which was banded in fall of 2023 as and adult. It is at least 5 years old.
