[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 9/24/26

Another "inbetweener" day - some sparrows mixed in with Wilson's and Orange-crowned Warblers and Ruby-crowned Kinglets.  But the highlight was a pair of Flickers caught together - one red-shafted and one yellow-shafted.  Beautiful, noisy and great to share with Christy Carello's Metro State University Ornithology class!

Here's the breakdown of the 35 new birds:

Northern Flicker, Red-shafted 1

Northern Flicker, Yellow-shafted 1

Red-breasted Nuthatch 1

Ruby-crowned Kinglet 4

Orange-crowned Warbler 3

Wilson's Warbler 17

Chipping Sparrow 1

Song Sparrow 3

Lincoln's Sparrow 1

White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 2

Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 1

We are open Tuesday through Sunday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It is a great year to visit Barr!
