[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report-Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-September 25, 2026

Low lying fog and clouds in the surrounding area curtailed migrating birds from dropping into the banding station olive grove this morning. There have been a couple accipiter hawks around the area all week. We caught another male immature Sharp-shinned Hawk today. otherwise a slow and quiet bird day. Fortunately we had a couple birds to show and talk about bird migration to Gold Camp 5th graders this morning.

A Hammond's Flycatcher was hanging out in the cottonwoods singing this morning. What a loud singer for such a little bird!
