[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 9/22/26

There were lots of birds around the station to welcome us back after our day off.  You will notice that there are more sparrow species and fewer insectivores among our captures, even though the number of Wilson's Warblers continues to be above normal.  A total of 73 new birds today:

Dusky Flycatcher 1

Northern House Wren 1

Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1

Hermit Thrush 3

Gray Catbird 3

Orange-crowned Warbler 3

Yellow Warbler 1

Wilson's Warbler 31

Green-tailed Towhee 3

Lincoln's Sparrow 8

Song Sparrow 3

White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 11

White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 2

Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 1

American Goldfinch 1 FOS

We are open Tuesday through Sunday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It is a great year to visit Barr!
