[cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report-Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-September 5, 2026

Another quiet day at the banding station. However, you never know what species show up. We banded a Black-and-White Warbler (Hatching year male) which was the first of the year. All the recaptures today were over 1.3grams or more since their initial banding. A Northern House Wren banded last fall was captured today. Good to see returning birds surviving.

Yellow Warbler- 1

Orange-crowned Warbler- 1

Black-and-white Warbler- 1

MacGillivray's Warbler- 2

Red-breasted Nuthatch- 1

N. House Wren- 4

Cassin's Vireo- 1

Yellow-breasted Chat- 2

Western Tanager- 1

Brown Thrasher- 1

3 Recaptures- banded this season and captured again

Swainson's Thrush- 2

1 Return-banded -banded last September as a hatching year bird

N. House Wren

The Banding Station will be closed tomorrow and reopen on Monday at sunrise until @ 11:30 AM. If interested in visiting the ranch tomorrow or next week, please register online at the Aiken Audubon website www.aikenaudubon.com
