[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 9/5/26

A nice, if relatively quiet, Saturday at the Barr Lake Station.  The weekends are an opportunity to share "our" birds with several groups of enthusiastic visitors of all ages, and lead to interesting and thought-provoking conversations.  Thanks to all who visited today!

Banded 32 birds today; Wilson's Warblers continue to be the primary species.  Had only 7 recaps today (compared with 25 yesterday).  Here's today's breakdown of new birds:

Western Wood-pewee 1

Least Flycatcher 1

Northern House Wren 3

Virginia's Warbler 1

Yellow Warbler 3

Wilson's Warbler 20

Chipping Sparrow 1

Lincoln's Sparrow 2

We are open Tuesday through Saturday, weather permitting, through October 23.  Most weekday mornings there is a visitor session from 7:30 to 8:30, and on the weekends there are sessions at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.  Reservations are needed; here is the link.   Please join us......It is a great year to visit Barr!
