Jane Stulp and I birded Lamar and the Great Plains Lakes, today. The most notable birds were 4 flyover Least Terns near the Arkansas River Bridge. We saw good numbers of Bullock's Oriole today at the Lakes, White-rumped Sandpipers, Stilt Sandpipers, a Great White Egret, were among other more unexpected birds. The peeps are nearly gone.
I've the Black-chinned Hummingbird coming to the yard, so you are welcome to come and look for it. I didn't see the Ruby Throat today bu it could still bee here.
Thank you.
Just a reminder, the old gravel pit north of Northgate Park and the river is private.
