Went to Cherry Creek State Park today. First went to marina. Highlights include at least forty American White Pelicans, a Violet green Swallow, and my first of year Western Tanager. One the way back from Cottonwood Creek Wetlands, I got a Bank Swallow.
-- At Cottonwood Creek Wetlands, the indisputable highlight is a GREEN HERON. Because of how uncommonly they are seen around here, I thought it was worth posting. It flew into a willow just across the road from the model airfield allowed for good photos!
