Hi all,
-- Sorry for the delayed post. This past weekend I was in the Frisco area and was able to do a bit of birding.
Dillon Reservoir had many pipits and a few Spotted Sandpipers. A hike up to Rainbow Lake through snow flurries yielded Swainson's Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Rock Wren, a probable Clay-colored Sparrow, and others. That night while out on the porch of our cabin we heard two Boreal Owls vocalizing from the coniferous forests near Miners Creek. The next day we did a quick hike around Officer's Gulch, where there was a Western Grebe and Clark's Nutcracker.
Good birding,
Jack Bushong,
