I've been lurking quite a while and this is my first post.
I was walking my dogs this morning and saw a White-faced Ibis so ran home to get my camera. After it flew back in the cattails, I wandered down to the bridge, hoping it would come back out. While at the bridge, I saw the Eastern Phoebe that I saw a few weeks ago, but not for the past couple of weeks, and it now has a mate. They were initially flycatching off of the small dam to the east of the bridge, then one flew by me to land on one of the silver posts on the south bank, west side of the bridge. The pair then flew in and out of the west end of the culvert so they may be nesting. I did not get a good look at the 2nd phoebe.
Lots and lots of Yellow Warblers and House Wrens, a Western Tanager flew across the trail, two Black-crowned Night Herons flew downstream and landed in a tree just west of I-70, and on my way back, there were 2 White-faced Ibis.
It was also nice meeting fellow birder Gerry Baines.
