[cobirds] South Platte Res and vicinity, Arapahoe, Jefferson Feb 1

I stopped in at S. Platte Res. first thing this morning. Open water continues in the Arapahoe portion. Three Long-tailed Ducks are still there. The male was spending lots of time on the surface for a change, power-swimming along the margin of the open water, while the two females were underwater 90% of the time. Four Ruddy Ducks continue. There were not very many gulls, but in addition to Ring-billed and Herring there were 3 1st cycle Thayer's and 1 1st cycle Glaucous. A Prairie Falcon was perched on a pole at the southwest corner of the entrance road (JeffCo). Back in Arapahoe, there were 19 Greater Scaup on Blackrock Lake, with a lesser contingent of Lessers (4).
