[cobirds] Roaring Fork Monday

Hi all

 

A great day’s birding Monday in the Roaring Fork with Mike Henwood, Blythe Carey and Scott Forman

 

We started in Pitkin County, in the Snowmass village area, and amassed a great total of birds

 

300+Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches – many of them Hepburns

200+Brown-capped Rosy-Finches

1 Black Rosy-Finch

Pine Grosbeak c5

Evening Grosbeak c20

Northern Pygmy Owl 1

Northern Shrike 1

Bald Eagle – Snowmass Canyon

Golden Eagle – Snowmass canyon

 

Eagle County, Frying Pan river above Basalt

Several American Dippers

3+Golden Eagles

7 Barrow’s Goldeneyes

4+ Clark’s Nutcrackers

Adult Bald Eagle

 

Garfield County

Richardson’s Cackling Goose by hwy 82 near Catherine Store

120 (approx) Barrow’s Goldeneyes viewed from Satak Road, Carbondale

Bald Eagle – on the nest at Aspen Glen, Carbondale

 

And plenty of other birds! All in all a great day
