Eight Great Blue Herons were standing on nests at the Crane Hollow heronry in Boulder County when Paul Slingsby and I drove by this morning. A few of the herons were paired. A Great Horned Owl was also on one of the nests.
When we drove by shortly after 2 pm, the owl was still incubating, but the herons were not present.
